JustFavs Keyboard
How do I turn on JustFavs Keyboard?
iPhone and iPad: open the JustFavs Keyboard app and follow the setup steps, or go to Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard and choose JustFavs Keyboard. Then, in any app, press and hold the 🌐 key and pick JustFavs Keyboard.
Android: open the JF Keyboard app and follow the setup steps. It takes you to the right Android settings to switch the keyboard on and choose it.
Do I need to turn on “Allow Full Access”?
No. JustFavs Keyboard works fully without it. Full Access only lets changes you make inside the keyboard (reordering favorite emojis, adding favorites from the emoji search, and words it learns) be saved to the app, and lets the gear key open the app. Either way, the keyboard never connects to the internet or sends what you type anywhere. More in our Privacy Policy.
The gear key says to open the app. Why doesn’t it open it?
On iPhone and iPad, iOS only lets a keyboard open an app when Full Access is on. With it off, just open the JustFavs Keyboard app from your Home Screen. All settings live there.
How does the free trial work?
You get everything free for 7 days. When the trial ends you keep a basic keyboard for free, and you can unlock everything with a one-time purchase. No subscription.
I bought it before. How do I get it back on a new phone?
Open the JustFavs Keyboard app and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you’re signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account you bought it with.
How do I move the cursor?
Press and slide on the space bar. Slide slowly for one letter at a time, quickly to jump further.
How do text replacements work?
Add a shortcut and a phrase in the app under Text Replacements, like “omw” → “On my way!”. Type the shortcut, then a space, and it turns into the phrase. One backspace puts the shortcut back. On iPhone and iPad, your Text Replacements from iOS Settings work too.
It keeps “correcting” a word I use. How do I stop that?
Press backspace once straight after the correction. The word goes back to what you typed, and JustFavs Keyboard learns it so it won’t change it again. You can also add words yourself in the app under Personal Dictionary.
Sometimes my phone’s own keyboard appears instead. Why?
That’s built into iOS and Android: password boxes and some other private fields always use the phone’s own keyboard, and a few apps don’t allow other keyboards at all. JustFavs Keyboard comes back as soon as you tap into a normal text box.
Which languages does it type in?
English for now. More languages are on the way, starting with French.
JustFavs Emoji Keyboard
How do I add or remove a favorite later?
Tap the search bar in the keyboard, find the emoji, and tap the + or − badge next to it. Or change them any time in the app.
How do I reorder my favorites?
Tap Reorder in the keyboard, then drag any favorite by its handle. Tap Done when you’re finished.
How do I get back to my regular keyboard?
Tap ABC to switch to your next keyboard.
I removed all my favorites. Now what?
The keyboard shows a reminder to search and add some back. Nothing’s broken; it just needs at least one favorite to show.
Can I keep Apple’s Emoji keyboard too?
Yes. JustFavs Emoji Keyboard works alongside it. If you’d like a simpler setup, you can remove Apple’s Emoji keyboard and use JustFavs for emojis instead.
How many favorites can I have?
20 favorites are free. A one-time unlock gives you unlimited favorites. No subscription.
Spotted a typing quirk?
Every keyboard gets better with real-world use. If a word, space, capital or punctuation mark doesn’t land the way you expect, we want to hear about it.
